EPAV Desk has two places to sign in: the cabinet at https://my.epavdesk.com for your account, address and payment, and the panel at your support address for conversations and settings. Each has its own password, and your cabinet password does not open the panel.
Cabinet and panel compared
| Cabinet | Panel | |
|---|---|---|
| Address | https://my.epavdesk.com | your support address, shown in the cabinet next to Panel |
| What you do there | plan and payment, support address, panel password, EPAV mailbox, setup steps, usage | conversations, contacts, channels, knowledge base, the assistant, agents and every site setting |
| Who signs in | only you, with the email you registered | you and each agent, every person with their own email |
| Password | the one you chose at registration | first issued by the cabinet, then your own |
Signing in to the cabinet
Open https://my.epavdesk.com, choose the Sign in tab, enter your Email and Password and press Sign in. After ten wrong attempts within five minutes, the cabinet asks you to wait five minutes before trying again. A sign-in lasts 30 days, and Sign out is at the top of the page.
Your panel login and password
The cabinet shows your panel access at the top of the page: Panel is the address of your site, Login is the email you registered with, and Password is a password the cabinet issued for the panel. The eye icon reveals it. Open the address, and on the panel page Sign in to your account enter the login in Email and the password in Password, then press Sign in.
Changing the panel password
EPAV keeps a copy of the issued password, and the cabinet tells you so, so set your own password in the panel. Go to Admin > Teammates > Agents, open your own account, type the new password in Set password and press Save. The cabinet link Teams, Agents, your own account opens the same list. After the change, the password shown in the cabinet no longer works, which is expected.
Password rules in the panel
A panel password must be 10 to 72 characters long and contain at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one digit and one special character. The same rule applies when you set a password for an agent and when anyone resets their password.
Your account has the Admin role
The panel account that the cabinet created for you has the Admin role, which opens every setting of your site, so you need no other login. Your site also has a few built-in service accounts that EPAV Desk uses: do not edit or delete them.
Lost panel password
There are two ways back in:
- press Forgot password? on the panel sign-in page, which works once emails to your agents are set up;
- or press Issue a new password in the cabinet and confirm. The cabinet replaces the password on your site, including a password you set yourself, and shows the new one. The old password stops working at once. The same button also switches your account back on, gives it the Admin role and adds it to every team.
How agents sign in
Every agent has their own account in the panel and signs in at the same support address with their own email. To add one, go to Admin > Teammates > Agents and press New agent, then enter the name, the email, the role and the team. Tick Send welcome email?, which is off by default, and the agent receives a link to set a password. Agents never use the cabinet. See Agents and teams.
When the welcome email does not arrive
The welcome email goes out only when emails to your agents are set up, either with your own mail or with the EPAV mailbox, and the EPAV mailbox sends only to addresses confirmed in the cabinet. Without email, open the saved agent, type a password in Set password and pass it on to your colleague. See Notifications and the EPAV mailbox.
Resetting a password in the panel
On the panel sign-in page, press Forgot password?. On the Reset password page enter your email and press Send Reset Link. The link in the email works for one day and opens Set new password, where you type the new password twice. Like every panel email, this one needs emails to your agents to be set up. A new password, set this way or by an admin, signs the account out on every device and disconnects the AI apps the account has connected (see Connect your AI); they ask to sign in again.
Resetting the cabinet password
On the cabinet's Sign in tab, type your email and press Forgot your password. The cabinet always answers that the link is on its way if the email is registered, so it never reveals which addresses have a cabinet. The link works for two days and only once. It opens New password, where you choose a password of eight characters or more and press Save and sign in; every other session of your cabinet is signed out. If the email does not arrive, write to support@epavdesk.com and EPAV can send the link again.
Single sign-on
If an admin has set up single sign-on, the panel sign-in page shows a button for each identity provider above the email form. The email and password form stays below the buttons and cannot be switched off. See Single sign-on (OIDC).
After you sign in
The panel opens your conversations. Settings are behind the shield icon, the last icon of the upper group in the left icon bar, with the tooltip Admin. The Inboxes icon at the top of that bar leads to conversations, not to channel settings.
